Enter to win our annual FLIP Your Classroom contest!

Most schools have breakrooms for staff and teachers but they aren’t always designed to support their unique needs, encourage casual connections between colleagues, or offer respite to help recalibration.

Now through the end of September, public, private, charter, and magnet schools supporting early education, middle, or high school students have the opportunity to win a school staff lounge transformation. Help us to celebrate the hardworking members of school facilities by providing comfortable spaces outside of the classroom that are designed to encourage respite and connections!

Ready to apply? Applications are open to schools serving students in grades K-12 in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

How to Enter

Submit entry form with:

A video showing your current lounge space, sharing your thoughts on what your dream respite space would be and how it might help you improve the revitalization of your staff! Video must be less than 3 minutes long and horizontal orientation. Note: Be creative and shoot your video from your phone- no fancy editing required! 

or

10-15 photos of your space along with a written description on what your ideal respite space would be and how it might help you improve the revitalization of your staff.

Contest Dates

• August 12th: Contest open
• September 30th: Final entries due!
• Early October: Winner is notified + co-design of your space with Atmosphere and Hon will begin!
• Installation determined between ordering and school schedules

Contest Terms & Conditions

1. Atmosphere’s FLIP Your Classroom contest is open to public, private, charter and magnet schools serving students in grades K-12 in the Twin Cities and nearby surrounding areas.
2. Applicants submitting to this contest must have approval of building administration before submitting an entry.
3. Atmosphere Commercial Interiors reserves the right to tour the winning space for 1 year. Tours will be scheduled at least 1 week ahead, and time will be agreed upon by both parties.
4. Each space may submit only one entry.
5. A panel of judges will consist of one judge from the Twin Cities design community, one judge from the Twin Cities educational community, one HON employee and one Atmosphere employee. Decisions made by the selection committee will be final.
6. One space will be chosen. The winning school will be given the opportunity to meet with the Atmosphere Commercial Interiors team to select final products and colors in October. If the original applicant is unable to meet, the Atmosphere Commercial Interiors team will make selections based upon our best knowledge of the space and school in which the furniture will reside.
7. Winners of the grand prize consent to having their name, image, school name and location used in Atmosphere Commercial Interiors promotional materials in accordance with current Minnesota data protection legislation.
8. Rights to all the contest entry materials, award and reveal videos and photos will become the property of Atmosphere Commercial Interiors. If students are shown in your submittal materials, please ensure that there is school/parental approval to share their image.
9. Disposition or storage of existing furniture at the awarded school will be the responsibility of the school. Atmosphere’s disposition/storage services can be provided for a fee.
10. Names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers or other personal information of contest entrants will not be shared with organizations outside Atmosphere Commercial Interiors.
11. Schools that have previously won the Flip Your Classroom contest are not eligible to win again.
