An exciting project opportunity located in the heart of Minneapolis recently swept into our office. Stemming from an office bursting at the seams and in need of a fresh, on-trend space that maximized their brand, our team dove into the early Explore phases of the new project. Not a stone was left unturned as the purpose of the client was dissected, analyzed, and stitched together. Surveys and workshops were conducted with employees to better understand the core needs of the group – how they worked, collaborated, and valued a successful workplace. Trends and studies were debated at Steelcase during extensive insights-led discoveries. Though the initial, albeit extensive, conversations all sounded similar to every beginning phase of a project, this client was different than others because this time, we were the client.
With a new, passionate and driven leadership team in place, the Minneapolis office space and method of working will undergo a transformation as we deliver on our core purpose—connecting people, purpose, and place.
We know when we connect people with a shared purpose in a place that supports how they work, there is a positive correlation to employee engagement. To lead the charge, we have partnered with Gensler, our neighbor and expert in design, planning and consulting. Together we will keep the needs of our team members and clients’ vision in sight.
With the Explore phase of the project completed, our teams are busy with the Plan phase as they continue to apply their learnings and insights, and refine the new space.
