As part of Union Elementary School District’s bond-funded campus transformation, Union Elementary was reimagined to support a growing PK-8 community with engage, flexible environments for learning and connection. Throughout the student spaces, adaptable furnishings, mobile resources, collaborative tables, and colorful lounge seating create welcoming areas that accommodate individual focus, group learning, and informal interactions.
The project also breathed new life into the District’s original schoolhouse, a 100-year-plus old building that was restored as a governing boardroom and welcome center for district officials and guests. The contemporary boardroom and public-facing furnishings were selected to match the building’s beautifully preserved wood floors and historic architectural character, creating a functional civic space that honors the district’s past while supporting board meetings and community engagement.
