Midwest Medical Center underwent a multi-year, phased expansion and renovation project to improve access for residents of Galena and the surrounding rural areas. The updated facility incorporates space for primary care, specialty care, infusion, cardiac rehabilitation, and behavioral health. The new physical therapy and fitness center is four times the size of the previous space and offers memberships to the general public.
The furniture for the project was a collaboration between highly engaged department leaders and stakeholders from the medical center, River Valley Architects, and Atmosphere Commercial Interiors. Atmosphere provided furnishings through the clinic, as well as art and planters to contribute to the biophilia that is incorporated with the use of woodgrain and plants throughout the space.
