The Creativity Commons (CRTVC) Atrium was initially a long-standing traditional computing commons on the ASU Tempe Campus. Recognizing its potential, the ASU Learning Experiences Group sparked a transformative vision for the atrium to become a vibrant hub for the University’s knowledge seekers.

The re-imagination of this dynamic, collaborative environment was the result of a strategic partnership between Atmosphere, Arizona State University, and the Steelcase Learning design team. With Steelcase’s help, Atmosphere was able to provide research-driven applications to help activate the space.

Products like Steelcase Elbrook, Flex, and Verb tables allow students to move and gather around the space easily, promoting active learning and collaboration. Soft seating, including Coalesse Await sofas and OFS Boost ottomans, helps create functional in-between spaces where focus, learning, sharing, and socializing take place.

The Creativity Commons is now home to Dreamscape, Next Lab, and the Tech Hub, and the revitalization project has increased student use of the space by 200%.
