DEEP MINNEAPOLIS ROOTS. A NEW HOME IN HOPKINS.

Our Minneapolis story began more than 70 years ago, behind the fur vault on the fifth floor of the Dayton’s Building in downtown Minneapolis. What started as Dayton’s Contract Department became an independent business in 1953, focused on planning and furnishing workplaces for organizations across the Twin Cities.

In 1969, we became a Steelcase dealer, moved to the LaSalle Court Building and became Dayton’s Commercial Interiors. Decades of growth and evolution followed, eventually leading us to the historic Young Quinlan building, where our Worklab became a place to explore new ideas about how and where people work.

Starting October 1st, 2026 — that story continues at our new Worklab located at Excelsior Crossings in Hopkins, MN.

The new space brings together Atmosphere and the broader Omni Workspace network in a destination designed for connection, collaboration and new ideas.

More than a showroom, the Worklab is a living expression of how workplace strategy, furniture, hospitality, interior construction, technology and workplace services can come together. Throughout the space, clients can experience the latest products, materials and planning approaches — and explore what’s possible for their own workplace.
